Piazza Umberto I + First Steps
Walk Piazza Umberto I - 50 meters across, entirely flat. This is Atrani's heart and your base of operations. The beach is steps from the square; September water runs 22-24C with crowds thinned from the August peak.
Walk the tunnel path to Amalfi - 10 minutes, flat to gently downhill, and the transit artery you'll use for the whole Amalfi leg. If energy allows, walk into Amalfi and see the Duomo from the square. If not: sit at the square, order an Aperol spritz, and watch the light change on the cliffs. Both are the right call.

- Stair note: The Atrani tunnel path has approximately 10-15 steps at the Amalfi exit end. Not a barrier, but worth knowing before the first walk.

- Bar Antico Caffe Vittoria is on Piazza Umberto I - opens 5 AM. Their cornetti are among the best on the coast. This is also your breakfast stop on departure day.
